As many of you have notice I have been unable to post in quite awhile. I have tried to keep up with many of you via e-mail, telephone and Facebook.
I apologize for not posting sooner. I have tried to post articles that I have read that have been helpful to me and my family. Since April a lot has happened including my daughters hospitalization that changed the way eat yet again.
One thing I have learned is even though you may have realized you have a gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance doesn't necessarily mean that is all that is going on with your body. This was the case with my daughter. We found out through an allergist that she is also allergic to vanilla, tuna, catfish, pears, apples, oats and wheat (no surprise). I was packing her apples, tuna, pears and found some gluten free oatmeal for her on the weekends. It is already hard when you are trying to avoid gluten/wheat but this added additional challenges. Her immune system was suffering as most with allergies would because her body was fighting of the reactions to food allergies. I would recommend getting yourself and your children tested for food allergies. I was really beside myself because we had to find something to build her immune system that didn't have something in it she was allergic to.
